Had an absolutely fantastic lunch at 81 Bistro & Taphouse. From the moment we walked in, the staff were warm, welcoming, and genuinely attentive without being over the top. The whole experience was spot on — great atmosphere, relaxed setting, and perfect for a group catch-up. The food came out well presented and full of flavour, and everyone at the table found something they loved. What really stood out was the service. It is deeply disappointing that 81 Bistro & Taphouse, supposedly one of Berwick’s premier venues, delivered such a subpar experience. The administration’s lack of organization was evident from the start, as we were essentially relegated to a neglected upstairs corner and forced to trek back to the front just to place an order. While our waitress was clearly trying her absolute best to provide good service despite these systemic failures, she was unfortunately undermined by a kitchen that showed zero care. I haven't been to Bar 81 for a very long time. I used to venture there for the food and music but that seemed to change, hence I haven't been here for a while. Surprise I saw new management and some music on a Sunday arvo and thought I would try it again. I didn't eat anything but the food passing me looked great. Friends stayed and had dinner and they messaged me and advised me that the food was good. Decent prices, great service with friendly staff. Throw in great music and a great crowd gave it a nice ambience. It's had a nice change and will be a regular again. My advice is to book unless
