Sorry but this is Worst Steak I have been served in Mackay.. We waited 1hr and 20 mins for 2 Medium Rear Steaks they came out Raw.. Some people like that.. but not what we ordered. The excuse that a big game is on that night is not an excuse for a wait that long and incorrectly cook food..If it a big night put more staff on in the kitchen.. These Steaks were not only raw but tough as old boots .. Just terrible really.. We wont eat there again I only gave 2 stars because the waiting staff were very kind and apologised ..The chef needs to have a think about what is good enough to leave the kitch

The perfect Sunday steak lunch. Tee-bone and a rump, pepper sauce. At last a chef who really knows how to steam vegetables to perfection. But it was a bubbly young waitress , Mel from WA who made the experience so positive. XXXX Gold was fresh and the Chardonnay crisp. An all round first class establishment. One can quickly identify excellence soon after arriving. The Austral is one of the good ones!!!
