Really wanted to like the place but when you microwave frozen kids pancakes, that’s just unforgivable. Had high expectations based on reviews and photos. Unfortunately, it just didn’t hold up. Kids pancakes came out dry like a cookie. Only way that happens is if it was previously frozen and then blasted in the microwave, removing all moisture, turning it into a solid puck. Told the staff about it, still got charged full price for it. Pulled beef rosti was a little better but again, beef was microwaved. You could tell because the water had separated from the beef after being previously frozen.

Have been to Mad Benji twice for brunch and absolutely loved it. It is not a very big place and can get quite busy and loud on weekends, so I definitely recommend booking ahead. My favorite was the French Toast, which was amazing, loaded with fruits, and beautifully presented. I also tried their pancakes, which were good, but the French Toast definitely stole the show with its larger portion. My friends tried the poached egg dish and really enjoyed it as well. Why would you serve your customers this much amount of chilli in breakfast? Fair we ordered chilli scrambled eggs but who eats that much amount of chilli! Total lack of care and sensitivity shining through this dish and when informed them they are like “yes, that’s more than what we usually put” - and that’s about it ….no apology and same “don’t care if you don’t like it” attitude. The worker named Jess is very good worker, I tried the stir fry for the first time and I LOVE IT. Not to salt I chose the non spicy and it still has lots of flavour absolutely delicious would recommend coming here!
