Zeglar “Zeg” Fergus★★★★Solid 4 stars for the footy pub of Brisbane. Located in Caxton Street, just up the road from iconic Lang Park. Some footpath dining for smokers, inside dining for the rest. Nice bars, good service. Menu contains all the ususal suspects, which was exactly what we were looking for. We were walkins, probably the best way to access The Caxton, parking around this part of Brissy is iffy at the best of times.
Gaia★★★Yeah it was okay. Started with a cheesy garlic pizza starter which seemed to only be cheesy at the very centre and a very plain pizza base. We got a lemon limes bitter jug to share which seemed to be the only highlight of our meal. We wanted to try the steak special but we couldn’t get a table since we didn’t have a booking, which is fair. However we just still couldn’t get the steak which seemed strange? Moreover, from an outsider’s perspective, it seemed a little confusing as almost 3/4 of the tables in the restaurant were empty. We settled for the street food and I got a chicken schnitzel b
Josh★★★★★A good pub to go to before or after watching the game near the stadium. The location is very convenient and makes it an easy stop on game day. The atmosphere is lively, especially with other fans around, which adds to the overall experience. The food and drinks are good, with generous servings and reasonable prices. The staff are friendly and the service is quick even when it gets busy. Definitely a solid spot to hang out before or after the game.
Alan (Bestie)★★★★Not being from Brisbane, took me a bit to work it out. It wasn't the Caxton Brewing on the corner but The Caxton (,hotel not shown). You had to go downstairs which was a bit hidden. Ordered the Scotch Fillet ($49) Asked if the Baked Potato etc came with it. Peppercorn sauce and the carrots. Didn't notice that the 3rd listed was an add on. $8. With a pint of XXXX Bitter came to $75.60. The steak, baked potato were both excellent. Nice salad. Carrots a bit crunchy. Shame that the $8 carrots took my opinion down a notch. Against that excellent steak. Just don't be conned buy the 'ad
