Loos American Bar really lives up to its reputation as one of the most iconic cocktail bars in the world: it is even more beautiful in reality than you expect it to be, the service is impeccable and friendly, and the drinks are perfectly executed and realistically priced. I visited on a weekday on a late afternoon, and could sit at the bar. It is small, so easier to visit solo or in a small group. If you visit Vienna it is really an unmissable place - just go!

I’ve seen such mixed reviews that I wasn’t sure I wanted to come and be disappointed, but we got a great table without a booking and had a great time. The drinks are not cheap, but we were very pleased with them (I loved the Smoke Martini). I was excited to see the design of the space.

Our friend who lives in Vienna recommended the Loos American Bar so we went. The bar is very very small and intimate, so I think reservations are recommended. We were lucky to snag a table for two for one hour as someone had it reserved for little later. The decor is modernist, simple but has mahogany wood and onyx marble walls The cocktails were tasty.
