This is how I expected an older style Viennese cafe to be like - chandeliers, bow tied service staff, grand piano. This place dates back to 1861. We booked for a late Wednesday lunch, but there were plenty of seats available. On the weekend, there was a line waiting. Our server was excellent. I had a spinach/cheese strudel & my partner some sausages. We both enjoyed the food, coffee & the ambience of the place. I wish I could have fitted in 1 of their amazing looking cakes. It was a real birthday treat.

We went to Vienna post Christmas and the reservation of all restaurants were already sold out! Surprisingly this place was the only option available and I booked it without any second thoughts!
