Staff are really friendly! The food (croque Monsieur, Caesar salad, salmon with asparagus and potato croquettes) was just what we needed for lunch but nothing to write home about. Very good value for money that's for sure. The cappuccinos were overly milky (rather than foam) but perhaps that's my personal preference.

I visited Leuven on a Sunday, and the restaurant I initially wanted to try was closed. I am glad I decided on De Blauwe Schuit because it turned out to be a great choice. The vibe and food selection reminded me of dining in an Australian restaurant. The cozy setting, with a lovely view of Leuven's historic architecture, combined with the cool late October air, made the meal truly enjoyable.

We came for a drink around 9:30 on a Saturday evening in late November. Friendly staff and a good atmosphere. The decore is random, but somehow works very well, including the huge lighthouse that goes between the floors.
