Sweet little café in Downtown Guelph, frequented by a lot of studying students. Limited seating, mostly used by students for studying- at least at the time we were there. This made a difficult to find seats. The coffee was really tasty, well made & not overly sweet. Portion size was fantastic. Food was good, typical for such a café. Noiselevel was decent for conversations, atmosphere didn't necessarily invite us to sit very long - it felt like we were interrupting students during their study time. Good place for coffee-to-go

I have been coming at least once per week to this location for almost a year. The staff is always amazing, friendly and happy. Whatever the Management of this place is doing needs to be a model for every Balzac’s. I have never had an incorrect order, nor a stale or outdated product at this location. Even though corporate no longer has a rewards program, I still come here, not because I can’t get the same quality elsewhere (another cafe is really close by), but I come here for the staff, from the manager Marcel (always super kind and helpful and ready to explain when I don’t understand) but a

The staff at Balzac’s Café in Guelph are incredibly kind, polite, and genuinely helpful. Balzac’s has always been one of my favorite coffee spots, but this location has a particularly warm and cozy atmosphere despite being small. The coffee is excellent, as always, and the kindness and friendly attitude of the staff add a special charm to the place. If you’re in Guelph, don’t bother looking for another café — this is the perfect spot for a great coffee and a pleasant experience. Highly recommend!
