Hidden gem in Surrey! Didn’t expect to find such solid aburi oshizushi in Surrey, but this place really surprised me. The aburi oshizushi was done properly — lightly torched with a nice smoky aroma, tender fish, and rice pressed just right (not hard, not falling apart). It wasn’t relying on heavy sauces, which I really appreciated. You can actually taste the quality of the fish. The tofu miso salad was another standout. The tofu was soft and fresh, and the miso dressing was well balanced — not overpowering, very comforting. We also tried their tart, which was a great way to finish the meal

No frills restaurant serving up great food. I’m a big fan of BC rolls and this place is top 2 in my books. They offer lunch specials and have a happy hour. Been here twice now and everything I’ve tried was delicious. Seems like a lot of regulars frequent this place. Saw the chef chatting with a number of guests in a familiar way. Good sign.
