Loved the red and yellow interior, it has a very Japanese-style vibe. The service was great, and the Chicken Soba and Small Drako Roll were both really tasty. The only downside was that the sashimi that day didn’t seem very fresh.

Ko Doraku is a great restaurant. Their atmosphere is clean, service is quick and friendly, and the seating is comfortable. I’ve lived in Halifax for 4 years, and never found somewhere with better chicken udon. It’s completely homemade and fresh, highly recommend. This is a great space for studying and writing papers. Whenever i’m wanting a treat, this is where I go!

Great service, reasonable prices, and decent ambience. Only complaint is that they serve escolar/butterfish as part of their assorted sashimi. It’s not even legal to serve the fish in Japan and it was a bummer to find it on our plate. I assume some people like it, but it was disappointing for us.
