This place used to make a great Sourdough. Now, maybe due to rising ingredient costs, high labour costs and high utility/rental rates, the bread is far from it. Looks like white bread, tastes like white bread, dense like white bread, toasts like white bread (burns easily), and missing that soury smell that Sourdough bread is supposed to have. Used to buy the bread during the week, now working too much and have to buy the bread on the weekend. I've found Churis to be very inconsistent, at their Hyde Park location. They have a few decent items, like their sandwich breads and buns. I recently enjoyed an excellent macchiato on two different occasions, but when I went today I ended up with what tasted like hot milk and without any espresso! The barista had put waaaay too much milk for a macchiato. I ended up being unable to drink it. Would not recommend Churis unless you have no other options.

I was in the neighbourhood and in the mood for a treat, so I decided to visit Churis Bread in Hyde Park for the first time. I tried their swirled pain au chocolat, and was so impressed by its beautiful, unique shape! It was flaky, buttery, and had the perfect amount of chocolatey goodness—truly a masterpiece. I also grabbed a milkshake, which was rich and creamy, the ideal treat for a warm day. You can tell they use high-quality ingredients and put a lot of care into their products. The atmosphere is welcoming and the staff are friendly. I will definitely be back!

We ordered the pistachio and double chocolate croissant and some ham and cheese and bacon and cheese savory breads. The croissants were very pretty looking and they made it look so appetizing, and we liked munching on the savory breads as well, but I wish we had asked them to heat it up before we took a bite. The croissant fillings were really good, but the chocolate one could have just been a little more chocolaty it was a bit sugary to be honest though. But other than that, it's a really cute cafe and you got a bunch of really nice jams and breads on the counter as well. I would surely recom
