Café Strickmann was one of the first cafés I visited after moving to Dortmund, and it has always held a special place in my heart. The café has a beautiful old-world charm that makes every visit feel warm and welcoming. I celebrated my second birthday in Germany here in 2025 with a lovely cake, and it became a memory I'll always cherish. A wonderful place with a timeless atmosphere that I truly enjoy coming back to. :)🩷

A classic spot in Dortmund I wandered into early in my stay. Their window display was rather attractive and inside was more of the same. Lots of delicious looking chocolates and treats with a vegan option too. I was lucky enough to be helped by someone who spoke excellent English because I speak no German lol. She helped me with my bulk coffee order and other selections. After making my purchase, I went back to the café to enjoy my apple cake and coffee (unfortunately, they didn't have any plant based milk options).
