The food was quite good, but the waitstaff explicitly asked for an extra tip. We’ve dined at several restaurants in Düsseldorf's Old Town (Altstadt), and this was the only place that did this. Additionally, since there were only two of us, we would have appreciated a heads-up about the large portion sizes. We ended up ordering way too much and sadly had to waste food.

On the last evening of the A+A fair we made a reservation for 6. Düsseldorf was very busy and understandably the waiter was a bit overwhelmed. The food was good, high quality meats and we'll prepared. Tapas for 4 was plenty for 6 as a starter. The fried anchovies reminded me of Ibiza. The rump steak with cognac and mushroom sauce was great. Food was good, but the service was a nightmare. The waiter was extremely rude and discriminatory because we don't speak German. To make it worse, he tried to force us to pay a high tip. When my husband tried to enter '0' on the machine, the waiter pulled it away and insisted we must pay extra, claiming they don't get salaries or something like that . From the moment I walked in I felt unwanted in this restaurant. The waiter spoke to me as if he didn’t care at all. After 10 minutes of waiting despite having a reservation he finally managed to find a table for me and my friends. I ordered the mixed grill plate, fries, and a salad. Unfortunately, I have to say that the meat was very poor quality rubbery, under seasoned, and basically inedible. In the salad there were olives with pits which I didn’t know about and found out in the worst possible way.
