You're sitting in or in front of a very historic building. It's an amazing feeling. After a visit in the museum next door it feels like the icing on the cake to have a piece of delicious, in-house-made cake and a cup of coffee (You can look inside what kind of cake you like and you order it outside from your server). But you also can snack on savory options like soup or other appetizers. During lunch time there's a special lunch available. For a Café this place is really weak in making coffee. For lactose intolerant customers you can only have regular milk as the coffee machine doesn't allow any changes! Service is neutrally friendly but extremely poor (the lady came to take the order and never bothered again to ask if we needed something else), another person brought 3x glasses (we were 6x persons), one glass was dirty. Cakes look like made from a powder mix... Interior design hasn't been changed in years, menue is laminated, daily specials not available because the kitchen was closed (yet noone bothered to remove the specials

The cafe has an upbeat atmosphere in the evenings, the cakes are a rustic delight and go well with tea. Loved the rum ball 👌😋

Don't bother going there if you are a tourist. The server (middle age short hair woman) just plain dry and borderline rude. Slow service on a slow midweek afternoon. Food just ok. The young people working behind the counter were sweet but the server ruined the experience.
