Absolutely DISGRACEFUL experience at Via Monte. I want to make this especially clear for people of colour considering visiting this restaurant: based on our experience, I would STRONGLY advise caution. My partner is a Black woman, and the way we were treated made us feel unwelcome, racially profiled and deliberately ignored. I booked in advance, yet the booking form gave no option whatsoever to choose between indoor or outdoor seating. This so-called “Italian” restaurant is a complete disaster. Calling it Italian is honestly an insult. The food was terrible across the board—bland, greasy, overcooked, and with a stale aftertaste. The pasta was falling apart, the sauce tasted artificial, and the overall quality was shockingly low. Even worse are the prices. They charge absurd amounts for food that wouldn’t be acceptable even in a cheap canteen. It genuinely feels like a rip-off. The bruschetta was a bit bitter from the fresh olives (i like the classic bruschetta without olives), but it was ok.. good price, good service, really really good service, staffs were very appreciative, the restaurant is always busy and full, so it is noisy. Many vegetarian menu, and everything was beautifully plated. Well done!
