Always great to be back every few years. Kudos to the young lady running the service. We came for lunch and there was only one person behind the bar and one young lady handling the service. She was greeting and escorting guests, helping to push tables together, taking and serving orders — all in a busy restaurant and always with a smile. Not only that, when she realised our food was taking a bit longer (still within an acceptable time), she proactively came to our table to give us an update, which was much appreciated. Will return. An old cafe, since 1911 (?) which is pretty young in Europe (right? Smile … one of the comments I hear all the time is … 200 years in US considers ‘old’ … you go to let them win something sometimes … all good naturally), in the Munzplatz - public square. All around constructions make it hard to enjoy outdoor. But it’s a cool morning to watch the city waking up and go about. It’s 10:30, not really early but the city feels still asleep. One young pretty lady is serving. Good bread, good coffee, fluffy pancakes, … all is good, except slowness.

Well, I only write this in the hope that someone from the place keeps an eye on the reviews. Up there with the worst service I've ever come across. Called in for a drink pre dinner elsewhere. Directed to a table on the nice terrace with a smile. Called the same front of house for service after 15 minutes, part way through ordering was told, "your server will be with you in a moment." Managed to flag down our non too busy server another 10 minutes later to be told, "O, sorry. I thought you were being looked after." I started by pointing out that there were other tables waiting on service longer
