“Sehr schönes Café mit ganz leckerem Frühstück und nettem Service!”

We visited this café last year and had a good experience, so when we returned to Leipzig this year we came back several times, assuming the first poor visit may have just been an off day. Unfortunately, it was not. The service was consistently rude and dismissive, particularly from the male wait staff. We were ignored when trying to order and later when trying to pay, while staff served other customers, chatted amongst themselves, and made us feel like an inconvenience. The food quality has noticeably declined and is very inconsistent. For the prices being charged, it simply is not worth it.

2026 update: rude staff (except the younger woman with curly hair - she was nice). Tried to get their attention to pay - impossible. Walked to the counter and finally got to pay only for our cards to not work and they blamed us. Cards that worked at the place the day before, and every other store we went to today. Food and coffee also not that great anymore. Gluten free bread roll was rock solid.

We’ll probably return to try some of their other cakes another day but we’re a little disappointed by the black cherry chocolate cheesecake that we got. Neither classic cheesecake nor soufflé, it seemed somewhere in between and they didn’t know what to call it in English, nor could they describe well some of the other tasty looking offerings. An interesting place, nonetheless, with some appealing looking desserts.
