Stopped by Niederegger Café in Lübeck with my girlfriend and our baby to try the famous marzipan torte. It was absolutely delicious and definitely worth a visit. The only downside was the service, which felt a bit unfriendly. Maybe it was just a busy day. Still, the cake alone makes this place worth recommending.

The shop and the coffeehouse is Located in the center of the city and it is listed in all guidebooks. It is totally overcrowded but it is worth it. Go to the top to the caffe house, there is also the Marzipan museum. The staff is totally exhausted as the space just cannot accommodate so many people. The cakes and the marzipan are made in heaven- not sweet but tasty. The toilet is a private enterprise ran by a grumpy old woman who demands a euro for using the facilities.
