Fresh off the plane as hungry tourists we looked up what restaurant near our hotel served authentic German food and were sent here. We sat outside, which looks to be standard for a warm summer's eve, as we passed many people seated outside at neighboring restaurants. Loved the people watching. The outdoor tables and chairs weren't super comfortable and the set up is quite weathered. I almost wish we would have sat inside because the vibe indoors looks especially quaint. Traditional german food in worthy portions. We got the leek and cream soup, schnitzel with mushroom sauce and fried pork knuckle. The taste was decent for the proteins, I wish the schnitzel was a bit more crispy compared to others I’ve had. The potato sides were okay, a little plain in my opinion. It was just pan fried potatoes with little seasoning. But look, the vibe was nice, the service was quick and friendly, and overall I had a good time. One of the better german food I had while visiting Germany. The prices weren’t too bad either, not cheap but reflective of the portions.

Enjoyed a nice drink of Murphy's Red & a Czech beer. Worth noting that cash payment is necessary if spending less than €20, which seemed unusual in our Berlin experience.
