Trattoria Traversa in downtown Münster was one of the clear highlights of our trip. We already tried to visit on the first day, but the restaurant was fully booked, so unfortunately they could not accept us that evening. Still, the first impression was already convincing: the moment we stepped inside, it smelled exactly like a real Italian restaurant, somehow like freshly baked garlic bread mixed with rich tomato sauce. The food was mixed. The Gorgonzola and pear pizza was very good, but very rich. The salmon tagliatelle was in a “light cream sauce”: that menu description was very inaccurate. The sauce was incredibly heavy and ultimately made the dish unpalatable. Our food came quickly, but then the long wait for what seems like the restaurant’s only card reader meant that we felt a bit like we were being held hostage.
