We visited Gretchens | Bio-Restaurant + Café after being regular fans of Brotklappe’s almond croissants and breads. We tried the gegrilltes Sauerteigbrot with zucchini salad and farahghanoush — the portion was huge, but the single thick slice of bread was really hard to cut, and two smaller slices would’ve been much nicer. The food was fine, but for €25 for two dishes it felt a bit overpriced. Honestly, their croissants, palmiers, and baguettes are still the real highlight.

We’ve been to this place twice already, and it’s absolutely wonderful! 🌟 The omelet with sriracha mayo is a must-try, especially when paired with their sourdough bread — just marvelous, melting in your mouth and unbelievably soft. For desert- basque cheesecake only! Tripple recommended! The coffee is also really good, perfectly rounding out the meal. We loved the sourdough bread so much that we even bought it from the nearby bakery as a little souvenir to enjoy at home for a few more days. Highly recommend this spot — we’ll definitely be coming back!

I've only had a cappuccino here, but it was really excellent (they use Röstbrüder coffee) and the staff are very friendly. It's also possible to use the roof terrace, which is quiet and peaceful. 👍😊

Cozy lovely place with a short selective Menu. They have some good vegetarian options but sadly no Vegan options. Still the staff helps in customising and putting a vegan meal. I tried Cauliflower cream soup and it was simply divine 🥹 one of the must go places if you find yourself in Weimar.
