“Had a tea meal in a late afternoon. Picked a soy milk soup noodle with some vegetables and a side dish. Average. Not bad but cannot expect too much at hkd38. Value for money. The vibe was alright at that time as there were just a few customers.”

The decorations make it look like the 1990s with retro colours, and the food, especially the noodles, 🍜 were really nice as it does not have wierd taste on the soup. Even rice was chewy, and the taro balls were REAL natural taro- 💯 recommended.

fatpiglife hk★★★★★Good value for money Taiwan noodles in central! 🐷overall: 7/10 🍜Taiwan style pork cartilage mixed sliced noodles The star of this dish is undoubtedly the succulent pork cartilage, braised to a tender consistency in soy sauce. The rich, savory flavor of the cartilage is a harmonious blend of sweetness and subtle saltiness, making it a true delicacy. Accompanying the delectable pork cartilage are thick and chewy sliced noodles that provide a satisfyingly hearty texture. Cooked to al dente perfection, these noodles absorb the flavors of the braising sauce, together with the mild mala sauce. A soft-boiled egg adds a creamy touch to the dish, while a sprinkle of chili peppers imparts a mild kick that tantalizes the taste buds. 🍛Taiwan-style braised pork rice The tender, flavorful small pieces of braised pork steal the spotlight with their rich, savory, and slightly sweet taste that is sure to leave you craving for more. Each bite of the succulent pork is a burst of umami goodness, perf
Brian Yeung★★★This restaurant specializes in Taiwanese railway lunchboxes and usually attracts long queues during weekday lunch hours. Visiting on a quiet public holiday evening, I decided to give it a try. The interior design was like an abandoned train station, and the food itself is rather basic—true to the spirit of a railway meal, though not in a particularly flattering way. Prices aren’t especially economical, and the staff were chatting and laughing loudly among themselves, paying little attention to customers. Unless there are no better alternatives, I wouldn’t return.
Bakdiu Singchoi★★★★★Small shop located near the Central Market, excellent and convenient location. Serves fair priced Taiwanese main courses, snacks and drinks without service charge, very rare for Central. Highly recommend sesame chicken udon in soup, texture of chicken rolls was tender and juicy and the soup was rich in flavours of Chinese herbs and ginseng. Pork cartilage in black sugar sauce was also impressive and went well with the spiced egg and rice. Would definitely revisit if I want cheap eats near the area !
hungry foodbabies★★★★Convenient location near Central Market, offers a variety of noodle/rice dishes and appetisers. A honest causal taiwanese diner for anyone who wants to grab a quick meal! 💟Taro balls with glass jelly - surprised by the big portion given, taro balls have just the chewiness that Pan was looking for. Pretty sweet & cool for the warmer season. Must order! 😋 🍜Taiwanese three assorted braised beef noodles - quite flavourful and slightly spicy. Liked the thick cut beef shank, & meatballs were particularly yummy 😙 🍛Taiwanese braised pork w/ rice - would prefer if it got richer flavours and there’s more sauce to cover the big portion of rice. Open for try other rice dishes 👀
Laalaa Food★★★★★Eat Together has branches in Kwun Tong and Central. Most people order Taiwanese food but the Japanese food are also recommended. Pork with shrimp paste noodles is a winter limited ramen. You can stir well and let shrimp paste mix with the soup base. Udon is used as the base of the noodles, so it is not the ordinary ramen. For the Grilled eel rice, the quality of the eel is good. The fish is smooth and firm, coupled with half-boiled hot spring eggs. The Taro ball jelly is such a big bowl which is definitely enough for two people to share. There are taro balls of different colors and flavors, as well as red beans and grass jelly. Dessert is very satisfying.
Indy★★★Recently opened in Central, 一起食堂 claims to make authentic Taiwanese bento meal boxes that are available on trains. The restaurant has a simple decoration and order list, which gives no information of what the bentos contain, and there is no menu or pictures for reference, so I had to relied on the food photos people posted on openrice as reference. I didn’t go for the noodles nor signature bentos, as they didn’t look appealing from those photos on openrice, and were quite pricey. I was proud to have order this small Braised Pork Rice and Crispy Popcorn Chicken after seeing what the customers sitting next to me got for their rice and noodles. I adored these popcorn chicken dearly. They were freshly fried, yet not greasy at all. Definitely crispy and flavored, very enjoyable to eat. The portion was just right too. This Braised Pork Rice was somehow not quite what I expected. The portion was generous in terms of “small”, but it tasted a bit funny. Normally you have clear sauce with the
