Stumbled across the place as we were after a “big lunch” as we were flying late that evening. The menu is a series of pub classics like pie & mash, bangers & mash so was an obvious choice for us. When we sat down our waiter said they had a Roast Special on as it was Sunday and we were sold. Roast Beef special was great, very tasty and very filling. We ordered two fantas, a Guinness and two roasts and the bill came to €54 which we feel was reasonable in the heart of Dublin. Highly recommend. Reservation wasn’t required, dining Sunday at 1PM.

I went to The Duke 2 evenings in a row for food and drink. The first evening I had the steak & Guinness pie, which was absolutely amazing. My server also recommended trying their Lamb stew, so I returned the following day and was once again amazed at the food. Had a lovely time, and the staff is very friendly. Lots of people inside, but not too busy to feel overcrowded, just perfect. I will definitely come back at some point!

This cosy bar in a prime location was a welcome find. Most central bars were packed on St Patrick’s weekend so we were delighted to finally secure a table. It’s a classic establishment with the usual menu and reasonable prices for the area.

The service at this place is great! We were seated immediately and the wait staff kept an eye on my drink to keep me topped up. The food came within 10 minutes and the drinks within 5. We had a roast and a beef pie. The food was great! It was busy but not over crowded, so it was easy to talk and just relax with a quiet ale! Recommend this place to get off the tourist strip!
