I visited Löwengrube three times in May, and it has quickly become one of my favorite restaurants in South Tyrol. Many restaurants in this area focus mainly on classic local dishes, but Löwengrube offers something more innovative and international, which I really appreciated and had missed a lot. The service was excellent, and the owner was especially friendly, warm, and welcoming. The food is delicious, the atmosphere is lovely, and the value for money is excellent. It is now my top choice whenever I go to Bolzano. Highly recommended!

We had a great evening in this charming historic restaurant. The interior is very well designed, the wine list long but well focused on local wines but the food was surely our highlight. If you are going for a fancy restaurant, this could be for you. We did not really enjoy it. We were inside, by ourselves in the dining room. Cool room but no atmosphere. Really fancy food. The stuffed squid were really strange. Hard to judge - was it good? I guess. But nothing i would like to eat again. And we could not get a cocktail because they dont serve cocktails until 10 PM. The wine list is overwhelming. The first 3 bottles we chose were not available. We agreeded to one they suggested and it was not great - or similar to anything that we had described we would like.
