We stopped by in the afternoon for coffee, matcha, and later a few drinks, and had a really good time. Even though it was busy, they still managed to find a table for our group of six, which we really appreciated. We were also brought complimentary snacks several times — chips, olives, focaccia, and cheese. Friendly service, a pleasant shady spot, and overall a very relaxed atmosphere.

Unfortunately, our visit to this restaurant was very disappointing. The staff – especially an older lady – seemed unfriendly and annoyed from the beginning, even though more than half of the tables were empty. When we asked questions, she responded with a forced kind of friendliness and then muttered something in Italian afterwards, which felt very uncomfortable. We did not feel welcome at all. Caffe Caffe in Piazza Mazzini has the best coffee in Como. Period. The food is delicious and fresh. Always! The staff is superb. It's a family run business, so they care a lot about maintaining the highest standards. Both the indoor and the outdoor seating areas are cozy and inviting. You must go there to experience the real Como. Whether it's for a quick and delicious coffee, or for breakfast, or to enjoy an aperitivo or to eat lunch, this is the spot.
