We were luck enough to stay within a short walk of this restaurant, the food is superb. The people running this restaurant are super friendly and very helpful. We ate here twice on our 4 day trip and both meals were amazing. The Prosciutto and Parmigiano starter was excellent, I had the one of the specials a Calzone and my mum had Spagetti Vongole which was loaded with so many clams. The draught beer was good and the white wine was excellent (according to mum) this was a recommendation by the waiter. Al Grottino has been my local pizzeria for several years. The food is always exceptional. The ingredients are excellent quality and the dough is light and perfectly cooked. They do some traditional food from Modena, such as the Vecchia Modena pizza (a famous pizza from the city made with bacon, balsamic vinegar and parmigiano reggiano cheese and mozzarella - I highly recommend!) and also speciality pizzas made with interesting combinations.
