A long time ago this place apparently used to be famous for larger portions and authentic, good quality Indian food. unfortunately, the place feels almost like a scam and I will explain why. first of all, for some weird reason they add v80 and catering levy, so this is 16 + 2 = 18% on top of the prices on the menu. granted, there is a line that explains this on the menu but the practise itself is anti-customer and not normal at all. in fact, as someone who has been dining in several countries including this one I have never seen something like this. it feels like a scam even if you know they are honest about it because you literally have to calculate your total which takes away from your dining experience. And speaking of dining experience I wish I could say something different but the rice was overcooked and watery, and the curry was average to good. unfortunately, the rice portion was extremely small, and the curry portion was on the lower to mid range. Many friends told me how they liked Open House. So we have decided to try and ... the experience was recommendable indeed. The good was really really good. The service was fast and reasonable. Only the problem is the traffic jam around there which is not the fault for the restaurant. I actually tried the delivery and the food was still very good.

I regularly order for this restaurant and it is one of our favourites in Nairobi. I’ve been a loyal customer for months, ordering regularly because I loved their food and trusted their quality. But my recent experience has left me deeply disappointed and disgusted. I ordered lunch and to my horror, found a dead insect in the accompanying salad. This is completely unacceptable and a serious breach of hygiene standards. The thought of eating something contaminated like that makes my stomach turn. I’m incredibly let down by this carelessness from a place I once raved about. I won’t be ordering again unless they address this issue seriously. Potential customers, please be cautious.
