Amazing dining experience! The food was absolutely yummy and full of flavor. The atmosphere was really nice and comfortable, making it a perfect place to relax and enjoy the meal. Special compliments to the chef…..every dish was prepared so well. Highly recommended!
Yummy! We’ll definitely be back for more. The pomelo salad was so unique, and the seabass was our favourite! The ruby and jackfruit dessert really stood out — we didn’t manage to get a photo, but it was honestly the best we’ve ever had. Such a passionate and hardworking couple behind this place!

dinner has somewhat been a little problematic for me here as most places are closed. This modern Thai restaurant in town is actually quite good & authentic. I had the classic grilled pork neck, Tom yum talay(seafood) & lady chef customized my rice into something like pad kra pao coz they don't serve that for dinner. So she used beef and stir fried with some basil, which is actually quite delicious and the beef slices are tender & flavorful. I'd say they do their food with passion, skill & finesse. Good quality produce too. The finesse element is usually hard to find in this small quaint town. Decor is warm and with a little retro feel.

Loved the food and vibes! Fish and prawns were VERY fresh. The minced pork was probably my favourite, it had lots of basil leaves and was very flavourful. Ordered their original milk tea and the sweetness was just right, not too sweet. Nice place to eat with small groups of people. But do expect a slightly longer wait time as it's only two people running the whole place. Will I come back? Yes :) Forgot to take a pic before eating the minced pork 😂

Came here for dinner in mid April recently. Have walked past the night before and saw quite a crowd but there was no shop name or menu. Anyway well done to the couple managing and preparing the food that night. There were only a few tables so we did not wait long. The food was good, an interesting raw fish salad, green curry, BBQ pork.

We came to Song Khun for dinner and grabbed seats at the bar—such a nice, cosy spot to enjoy the meal. Since it was just the two of us, we went for the Samrub Duo set. The fish and prawns were incredibly fresh, definitely the highlight. A little funny moment: I didn’t realise the salad had raw fish in it at first—I thought they were pomelo 😅 I haven’t had raw fish or sashimi in almost 10 years after a bad bout of food poisoning, but thankfully everything was so fresh it turned into a pleasant surprise. I’d probably skip the fizzy drinks next time though—we were so full we couldn’t even finish the dessert tart!

We found Song Khun Restaurant by chance walking back to our accomodation. We had a lunch and a dinner here trying the two different menues! Food was simply delicious! The quality of the ingredients is outstanding, valorised and prepared with love. Amazing service and great ambience. Highly recommended if you are in Ipoh and want to have a unique experience. We will come back! Grazie for the best hospitality!

Love the ambience where you can sit at the counter area looking at food preparations and how the dishes were meticulously made with love & passion ,every dish is freshly cook & the spices are hand pounded. Their choices are not much and is not the normal Thai food you usually find, every dish is creative and they explain the dishes as they are being serve to you. Menu changes every 3 months and is a great experience for someone who loves different Thai culinary adventure The fried dried fish with watermelon & pineapple is so unique and taste refreshing. The omellete goes well with sauces made with mango & chilli. I’m not sweet tooth person, but the Coconut Pandan Tart blew me off, love it. Is my second visit and definitely will come back again after 3 months.
