The seafood porridge is flavourful and delicious. Spinach with crab meat also full of flavour. The rest of the dishes are average. The 辣子鸡 almost 75% are bone. Cempedak cheesecake also quite nice. Price slightly on the higher side. Portion also not big. Reservation is recommended.
Very nice ambience with background jazz music. Food is tasty thanks to the la la & pork lard that creates the rich and flavourful broth. Vegetable is simple and yet prepared just nice. Need to reserve in advance though. I’m lucky to get a table that is reserved for a later time.

If you’re planning to dine at Starry Night Ipoh Restaurant, I’d highly recommend making a reservation beforehand to avoid disappointment. The restaurant was packed when we visited, and it’s easy to see why. The standout dishes for us were definitely the seafood porridge and the vermicelli claypot (粉丝煲). The seafood porridge was rich, flavourful, and generously loaded with fresh ingredients. Every spoonful was comforting and satisfying. The vermicelli claypot was equally impressive, with the vermicelli soaking up all the savoury goodness of the broth, making it hard to stop eating once you start. What I appreciated most was that the food wasn’t overly complicated, just fresh ingredients cooked well and packed with flavour. Sometimes that’s all you need for a memorable meal. Despite it being one of the hottest days during our Ipoh trip, with temperatures reaching around 34–35°C, the restaurant was still bustling with diners throughout the evening. That’s usually a good sign that the f

Look, this place is a mood. Smack in the middle of town is a mint-coloured building that serves delicious Chinese cuisine that brings people in droves. People line up to enter for good reason, their food is nicely done. Deviating from your traditional sit-down Chinese dinner with white rice for everyone, Starry Night instead suggests that you switch things up with their choices of carb. Seafood porridge and claypot glass noodles get our resounding thumbs up. Served in large portions for sharing, they are flavourful and complement your main dishes without stealing the spotlight. The porridge is rich with umami and generous with seafood, whereas the glass noodles is bursting with robust, complex flavours. Both are must-tries. For rice traditionalists, the pork lard rice is superb too, a guilty pleasure drizzled with soy sauce served with fried egg. Crunchy and creamy. Simple pleasures. There are meat and vegetable dishes worth trying too, but this visit we indulged in their grilled

Seafood porridge is my highlight, the broth is flavorful and concentrated. The meat balls in the porridge is fried minced pork balls and they are good. I didn't like the type of clams they use. I believe the Tau pok has some fish paste filling, slightly too salty for me. The lard is good too, they are crunchy, I paid for extra serving. The veg is a cold dish and quite refreshing. 回锅肉 is average. I will come back for the porridge

The food was great! Pa Gu chai was refreshing as an appetizer. Fish soup was on point. Pork lard rice was delicious. The ambience of the restaurant was really cozy. What truly elevated the evening, however, was the exceptional service. A standout moment was when our waitress noticed we might be over-ordering. Since there were only two of us, she gently guided us through the portions and suggested we hold off on a couple of items to ensure we didn't over order. It’s that kind of honest, thoughtful hospitality that turns a good meal into a great experience. You really feel like the staff cares more about your experience than just padding the bill.

DELICIOUS. Do not miss this! The food was absolutely incredible, especially the golden tofu with mushroom sauce (lightly crisp & bursting with flavor)! The amber bearded chicken was light, almost poached, and so tasty. We absolutely loved the kai lan. Every single dish was wonderfully imagined and Chef Leong is young and very talented. The ambiance is 10/10 (we loved the care put into maintaining an original Ipoh legacy) and the food is out of this world. The staff and managing team are excellent, very friendly, and knowledgeable. We literally went for lunch and CAME BACK the same day for dinner! Best wishes to this team and we look forward to coming back.

When you are tired of all those local Ipoh foods, this got to be in your no 1 in the list if you are keen to go for some high end fusion Chinese/western dishes. World standards for sure and not your usual soya sauce western foods. Only those exposed to truly authentic western foods will appreciate this place though. Their wagyu beef cheeks, pork lard rice and their crab spinach are the OMG items. Go for it and you will definitely come back for more
