Best Francesinha with vegetarian options. Very lovely people runs the restaurant, the mom bakes the desserts. It is very traditional Portuguese experience with sweetest people running and serving it! We visited again :)

Xic is another genuinely authentic Portuguese restaurant. Like many in Faro, catering for local folks, Xic is situated around the corner from the Mercado Central in the heartvof the city. It's speciality is what might best be described as a toasted cheese sandwich, with layers of bacon, sausage and a choice of other meats, with a fried egg on top, served with chips in a tomato and beer sauce. Definitely not for the faint-hearted! Worth trying, as we did as a half portion, though we could see that all the other diners were tucking into theirs, accompanied by large glasses of beer, and dessert

The food was really good, so was the overall atmosphere. I do have to mention that they were a little bit understaffed and the waiters were running around therefore the waiting time was a little bit long, but nothing too bothering.
