If you're interested in Madeira's traditions, this is a nice experience to try once. The live folk music and traditional performances create a fun atmosphere, and if you enjoy meat, the traditional beef skewer (Espetada) is definitely worth ordering. That said, the whole experience felt very tourist-oriented to me. While I'm glad I tried it once, it's not somewhere I would personally return. If you're curious about local culture, traditional dances, and Madeira's famous meat dishes, it's worth visiting at least once. A Parreira is a fantastic communal style restaurant that serves traditional Madeiran cuisine and provides an after-dinner show! The tables are organized in long rows so that everyone sits across from each other and side-by-side, so you might have the opportunity to meet new people and make new friends. My mother and me had a great time at this restaurant. Our waiter was funny, dedicated and very professionnal. The folklore was a bonus we didn't expected (we found the restaurant by walking around our airbnb), but it was the perfect way to finish our trip and we are gratefull we had the chance to see the traditionnal music and danse of the people of Madeira.
