I visited Bodeguita 1999 in January 2024 and it was one of the highlights of my trip. I actually missed my dinner booking, so came back the next day for lunch; definitely worth it. It’s a Tripadvisor Travellers’ Choice Awards winner, and I can see why. The fillet steak was incredibly lean but unbelievably tender and juicy, and not heavy at all. I’m giving two stars primarily for the staff. The service was kind, although waitress couldn’t understand much English she tried her best to serve. However, the meal itself was nowhere near the standard we expected for the price. The Rib-eye (€70): We ordered it medium, but it served the first time medium-rare (dark red center). We kindly asked them to cook it further, but it was returned still very rare. Beyond the temperature, the quality was poor. It was incredibly chewy and lacked the sear of a hot pan. The seafood paella 🥘 was insane! Really good, recommend 100%! It was tasty indeed. The burger was prepared well done and it was also delicious. The staff is always nice and polite. Should definitely try this place if you visit Alicante. I recommend making reservations in advance, at dinner time is always full. Also this white wine was so refreshing, get a bottle for 3 people!
