This is decidedly not what the interior looks like. The man working was incredibly rude and said “no” when I asked if they had espresso (with a machine literally right behind him.) When I called him on it he apologized for his bad English in literal perfect English.

Reply to owner: Don’t know why to make it a private conversation. We’ve been told to wait to be seated. It was a semi busy weekday, Tuesday 14:40. We stood in the middle of the hallway for 20 minutes watching people arriving and getting served. Then we’ve been told to leave cause the kitchen now apparently is closed. Waste of our time.

Had a cup of soy milk latte and a pintxos sandwich one of the mornings of my stay in Bilbao. Although none of the staff understood English well, we still could make the necessary communication (google translation helps). Food and coffee was priced affordably and was fresh and tasty.
