Honestly, the quality-price ratio is one of the best in Madrid. I've been coming here for years, ever since they were across the street and their mother would occasionally make crayfish (that was a real treat). If I had to recommend one place in Madrid where you can eat meat that won't break the bank and is actually worth it… it's this place. The sirloin steak is incredible, and their roast beef is also famous (best to reserve it). They also have fresh fish, which is usually fantastic. Sweetbreads, black pudding, a really big mixed salad, calamari, hake, and of course, their mandarin sorbet. T

There were four of us, and the restaurant was packed. The food was excellent: a tomato salad with anchovies and cheese, exquisite black pudding, delicious fried calamari, and especially the superb lamb. The broad beans with ham were also delicious. However, even though we weren't in a hurry, it took over 20 minutes to take our order and bring our drinks, and the service itself was incredibly slow. While the waitress who served us was diligent, you can't have an entire dining room, including groups, depending on just one person.
