My wife and I went for a late lunch when it was pleasantly empty, but as someone who has lived in Madrid when I was younger, places like this can get packed for morning coffee. A quick cultural tip for tourists: don't get frustrated if you are asked to squeeze into a tight table or share space with others during the brunch rush. Much like traditional tapas culture, it's all about maximizing space so everyone can be accommodated. It's about social connection, not the sprawling layout of a typical Western restaurant

Wonderful little deli style bakery offering an amazing brunch menu. Aside from freshly baked bread and pastries, they offer a sit down restaurant with an extensive breakfast, brunch and afternoon lunch menu. The covered patio has heating for those chilly winter days. There's a fantastic selection of freshly baked cakes to compliment your tea or coffee, and it all comes with outstanding service with a smile. Prices are reasonable and portion sizes are decent to satisfy your hunger.

Had such a great breakfast at Brown Bear Bakery! The cortado was absolutely delicious and the American breakfast was really good as well. The service was friendly, welcoming, and made the whole experience even better. Definitely a spot I’d come back to when in Madrid!
