When just arrived at Madrid and wandered around, and was attracted by a seemingly old restaurant,Lhardy . By curiosity, just went inside and asked if there was table available. The dinning hall upstairs was full and the only table available was on the ground floor which was kind of snack bar. The food displayed and the environment were so attractive that we decided to have a try. This restaurant has been highly recommended on Google review, but I found it quite overstated. The ambiance and decor are lovely, it has a nice classic, aged feel that makes for a pleasant dining environment. Unfortunately, the food was just average. The oysters seemed over sourced and lacked freshness. The famous Beef Wellington had almost no beef taste at all, although the pastry was nice. Nothing particularly memorable or outstanding despite the hype. The service was mixed, most of the other staff were fine, but we were mainly attended by a waitress wearing glasses who was quite unfriendly

I can't wait to visit again. So awesome 👌 The lady who served me,She doesn't speak English but helped me know the unfamiliar menu. Food, and everything was great. In particular the interior was so beautiful 😍 I will visit again today before leaving in Madrid.

Please don't order the favorite dish, it's a disaster, only fat meat, boiled. Soup it's very salty, I don't like anything. The dessert and the vine it's good 👍. In this local it's only the turist, no local people, because, they understand way. In conclusion, I don't visit anyone this restaurant in the future.
