My recent lunch buffet at Shangri-La Central was very disappointing. The selection was limited, and many dishes were not refilled properly, leaving serving trays looking almost empty. There were very few protein options, and the mutton biriyani was particularly disappointing. Despite being labelled as mutton biriyani, there were hardly any pieces of mutton in it, and if you were lucky, you might find a tiny bite-sized piece. The service was also below expectations. The dessert station had only one staff member who had to make crêpes and serve desserts, which caused delays. Guests could not serve themselves, and unfortunately, the desserts were not worth the wait. Even the Sri Lankan sweetmeats lacked quality and flavour. Overall, it was a disappointing buffet experience that did not meet the standards expected from a hotel like Shangri-La.
