The food was amazing! We had the Seafood Kutto which was recommended to us since we had a train to catch and wanted something that they can whip up fast. It turned out to be very flavorful and filling! It tastes like an elevated luxury fried rice! The best! We paired it with a cucumber mint drink which complemented the Kutto very well. People were so friendly and warm. And the place is just a gem in the middle of the city.

Oldfort Cafe genuinely felt like a lifesaver for us. We were heading to Colombo Fort train station for a six hour train journey and realised we had not eaten anything. Exhausted, carrying luggage and stressed about the trip ahead, we randomly found this place nearby and it honestly felt God sent. The staff immediately helped us carry our luggage upstairs without even hesitating, which meant so much in that moment. Service was incredibly quick because we needed takeaway food before catching the train, but despite how fast everything came out, the quality was still amazing. We ordered burgers to take with us and only properly ate them later on the train, and wow… they were genuinely so tasty, juicy and satisfying after such a long day. Beyond the food, it was the kindness and warmth that stayed with us. Sometimes the places you remember most while travelling are not the fancy ones, but the ones that help you exactly when you need it most.

Had a great experience at Old Fort Cafe. The location is excellent, especially being so close to the Colombo Railway Station, making it a perfect stop to relax and unwind. The beer was amazing and the overall vibe of the cafe was really nice and comfortable. A special mention to our server, Tharinda (hope I got the name right!) — he was one of the friendliest and most welcoming people we met during our trip. His service, warm attitude, and hospitality made the experience even better. Definitely a place worth visiting if you’re in Colombo!
