My visit to Peppermint Cafe felt like stepping into a serene, aesthetic escape in the heart of the Colombo. The interior is beautifully designed with soft textures, warm lighting, and elegant earthy tones that create a cozy yet stylish atmosphere. Every corner feels thoughtfully curated, making it perfect for relaxing or capturing aesthetic moments. I tried their Grilled Chicken Mexican Rice which was rich in flavor, perfectly spiced, and incredibly satisfying. Paired with the Summer Sea Mojito, a refreshing and vibrant drink with a beautiful presentation, the experience felt complete. The staff were genuinely warm, friendly, and attentive, making the experience even more special. Don’t bother coming to this place. It’s not what it used to be. Claiming to be pet- friendly and having an area all the way at the gate which is not even maintained is not really being pet friendly. At least should be cleaned without having to point it out. We had chicken kottu and a smoothie bowl. Kottu was way to spicy. Couldn’t taste anything other than chili powder. Just a splash of yoghurt in the granola bowl. Way too expensive considering the quality. Service was terrible considering they didn’t even bother to clean around the table before we addressed it. Cigarette butts are a direct indication that you need to clean a table. Peppermint cafe used to be one of the best that was around. Sadly NOT ANYMORE.

Serious Food Safety Issues and Defensive Staff at pepermint cafe. Visit Date: 14 February 2025, approx. 14:30. Order number 2602140066 We visited Peppermint Cafe for a quick lunch, ordering a mint tea, a peanut butter iced latte, Mexican chicken rice, and crispy chicken strips. While the dip was pleasant, our experience quickly deteriorated due to significant food safety concerns and a lack of professionalism from the staff. Upon eating the chicken strips, we realised last peice was undercooked, the meat was pink and the texture was rubbery. When we returned the plate to the kitchen, two members of staff from the cashier desk approached us back with the plate. Instead of addressing the safety issue, they became defensive, insisting with a poor attitude that the chicken was "overcooked." My wife had to explain the basic difference: overcooked chicken is white, dry, and fibrous; raw chicken is pink and rubbery. Issue was cause by using cornflakes as the batter instead of making batt

Waited over 2 hours just for our food to come, when questioning the manager his response was that the kitchen was going through a deep clean..... who in their right mind does a deep cleaning of their kitchen during dinner service? Finally once the food arrived despite my hotdog being Rs, 3500 was mediocre with a tiny sausage with a regular bun, furthermore my French toast Rs, 3500 was just lightly toasted bread with Nutella topping. Utterly disappointed with the quality and service of the food wouldn't return nor recommend!.

Just one suggestion, they have the qr scan menu option, it would be helpful if they mention on the menu that the order should be placed at the counter, because when I was there I saw a guy mumbling to his partner that no one came to take their order despite being seated for more than 10 mins, and the staff were all occupied with other things
