NMU Cafe is a charming café located inside Taichung Literature Park, decorated with cute cartoon characters and also functioning as a small gift shop. The menu offers a wide selection of desserts and drinks. Prices are slightly on the higher side, but the quality and taste are definitely worth it. The staff are extremely friendly and welcoming, and guests are allowed to decorate their tables with the café’s plush toys, which adds a fun and personal touch. It’s a great place to relax with tea or dessert while enjoying the peaceful natural surroundings. Hot drinks also come with lovely latte art, making the experience even more delightful.

I loved the experience. I was tired walking around and the cafe looked like an oasis honestly. The vision of the cafe is really cool. The staff was very welcoming, they spoke and explained everything in English. Finally, our food (matcha latte, Affogato and cheesecake) was really good. I would definitely recommend this to any foreigners visiting taichung.

I found the staffs extremely rude at this cafe, despite a wonderful setting. I said I wanna go out for a few minutes to take photos of the tree, while waiting for the foods and drink, and he refused to let me go out!!! This is ridiculous, what legitimacy or law in Taiwan to say a customer cannot temporarily get out of a restaurant/cafe? The bills were already paid anyway. The other staff also wasn’t very welcoming. Very rare bad cafe experience in tw. The boss needs to change the staffs. Add reply to boss: your staff only said coz the movement would distract others (just one walk? Seriously?), not for safety of the customer’s belongings, please don’t delude my previous comments. Moreover there were only a few customers at the time of my visit. Thanks for your reply though I appreciate it, just to let you know the problem with your service quality (But there was no misunderstanding, I was being mistreated by your staffs).

Japanese traditional wooden architecture coffee shop nearby Taichung Literary Park. Good atmosphere, wide space. The iced coffee accompany with pineapple flavor let me impressed. super recommended it. crispy cinnamon roll is one of choices you have with beverage. Please enjoy the time after you order one combo you like. Sell some small item related with coffee. If you like, don't forget bring it by the way. No parking lot, easy for motobike parking. When we entered the cafe, we‘ve been told, that each person needs to order one drink, which we were planning anyway. 😆 Before we received our orders, each of us received a glass of Osmanthus oolong tea, which was so good, as it had a nice floral taste with a slight of bitterness. Therefore we bought a package of it. The matcha latte drinks and the mulberry cake were quite delicious! The cappuccino was in comparison not so special in regards to taste. The staff was quite friendly and attentive there.
