What a lovely dinner experience. The food was excellent, beautifully presented and full of flavour. The atmosphere is relaxed but still feels a bit special, and the staff were attentive and friendly without being overbearing. It is slightly on the pricey side, but honestly worth it — you can taste the quality and effort in the dishes. Definitely a place for a proper sit-down dinner rather than a quick bite. Would happily return.

We arrived at the rooftop restaurant tired from all the stairs only to find they have no available tables; and this is when the staff won our hearts. Despite the challenge, they quickly showed us to a waiting area and prepared a table ready in a couple of minutes. Service was fast, the food portion was good and it was delicious! Every bite of the beef ribs was just melt-in-your-mouth good! The spices on the beef ribs were on another level. Subtle and yummy. The octopus was also on point, only slight criticism it had a bit of a charred taste in some areas that was a bit off-putting. After the meal our host Ayoub offered us 2 bottles of soda take away complementary as a kind gesture for having to wait to be seated. Truly exemplary service from this gen in the heart of Stone Town. Highly recommended.

We loved it a lot! Each dish is made from local ingredients, either from Zanzibar or from the mainland (i.e. cheese). This may as well be your local tour through fruits, vegetables and fishes of Tanzania. Our recommendation is for a Zanzibari mix of starters, but we also had octopus (a starter and a BBQ half of it). For dessert we tried a mousse from a zeituni, a fruit we never heard of before. Looks like mango so we may have missed it when passing local stalls, but it doesn't taste anything similar. Less important to us, but worth taking a note, it is a fine dining restaurant. The service is typical for an upscale place. There are plenty of very nice-looking restaurants in Zanzibar, but the quality service and extraordinary meals of Breadfruit Restaurant, which is nestled in a gorgeous nook at the base of the beautiful Neela Boutique Hotel Stone Town stands apart and alone hitting each mark. I went here on a random whim, initially just to view it. The warm and gracious host erased whatever plans to bookmark and possibly return I had. I enjoyed a surprisingly delicious brunch that incorporates local and traditional food items on its menu. The menu goes beyond just catering to what you know and expect, it excites you by challenging and delivering exceptional dishes made with a spin! The best compliment to the chef was the two cleaned plates after our brunch. I can not help but extend my gratitude to the staff of this lovely establishment.
