I had such a great experience at Koyla Ashford. We were welcomed with complimentary poppadoms and a selection of sauces, which was a really nice touch to start the meal. I ordered the momo, which came under a light foam with a beautiful nutty flavour, something a bit different and really well done. The biryani was especially impressive, cooked in the traditional way with a pastry seal on top, locking in all the flavours. You could really taste the care and authenticity in it. We are regulars at The Koyla but decided to try their Sunday roast for the first time on this visit—and it was amazing! This restaurant could be so good, but it’s not there yet. Great, easy to get to location, lots of parking, lovely setting. Greeted at the door, welcomed to a table with freshly crisply ironed table cloths. But then the service was just somewhat missing: ordered a cider, given an asahi.
