I’m writing about an incident that took place on 1 May 2026 at around 10:45am at the M&S Food store in Ballymena. We were using the self-checkout when the machine froze. A member of staff, an older lady, came over to help but appeared visibly irritated. She started adding items incorrectly despite us trying to explain the issue. When we politely attempted to clarify, she responded rudely and told us not to interfere. Marks & Spencer is probably the busiest shop in the Fair hill shopping centre. It has all the usual departments mainly clothing and home items but the crown jewel has to be the great food court! Fresh produce always available as well as flowers and their sauces and ready meals are hard to beat. Also a cafe/restaurant upstairs so if you want to spoil yourself visit the food court for a treat.

Great spot, not the biggest food hall but fast and efficient tills meaning a quick in and out is possible even at Christmas. I found the staff very friendly and helpful!! The cafe was clean and well staffed and to be fair was a lot more pleasant than the other M&S cafes in the provence.

I went to M&S Ballymena Ballymena As a store the foodhall was typical. Coffee shop was the worst I've ever been to. It was freezing in there. Men's department was poor re. Range, choice and colour. Who are the buyers for this store?
