Only visited because I was interested about the history of the Pendle Witches Trial. At the entrance of the museum you see a big banner stating it's the museum of the Witches of Pendle so I thought that most of the museum content will be about this. Unfortunately not! Most of the museum is about the history of the house and the family that lived here. Only a tiny amount was about the witches. The part about the witches trial was a bit disappointing to be honest. It was mostly written stuff that you can read online and short fictional movie about what happened. It was bit outdated and not wort

Pleasant garden and great location with easy if slightly pricey parking. The cafe serves decent basic food with gluten free and vegetarian options. The food was fresh and pleasant but they got two out of three orders wrong. All sorted without fuss but it needs some management. Well worth a visit.

Visited here expecting it to be full of information about the Pendle witches as this is their USP, all there was available was a 15 minute video about them. We walked round the house in about 10 mins, £6.00 entry fee was very steep and £1.25 per hour to park (very limited parking) the information was more about the house and how old it was and it’s original residents the Bannisters. The cafe attached was extremely expensive, we sat down looked at the menu and got up again sharpish, just short of £9.00 for a plain cheese sandwich, and £10.00 for a jacket potato with 1 filling!
