Really enjoyed our meal here. We ordered the tempura prawn rice bowl, eel rice bowl, and a pumpkin croquette. Everything tasted great, and we were also given a complimentary bowl of miso soup before the meal, which was a lovely surprise. The food was fresh and flavourful, although the portions were slightly smaller than expected. That said, the quality was very good and we left satisfied overall. The restaurant had a nice atmosphere, and the service was friendly and welcoming. We’d happily come back if we’re in Bath again.

Hondo Sushi was a fine restaurant if you’re craving for something Asian in the middle of Bath. We booked in advance so we got in with no wait. The atmosphere was, however, not really great. The tables are really packed, and in overall it was busy and noisy. The food was indeed really nice. I got a salmon bento, and it was packed with huge, fatty slices of salmon. I couldn’t finish all the rice, but it was really nice for just above £13. Prices are affordable, but the restaurant lacks atmosphere. The tables and chairs are old, and the space feels more like a corner breakfast cafeteria than a cozy dining spot. The ramen noodles were overcooked, and the broth was missing that rich umami depth. I ordered the eel donburi but was served salmon instead though the dish was still enjoyable. The gyoza didn’t meet expectations, and the takoyaki were undercooked.
