I would rate this place a 10/10 on every scale possible. Something I was most impressed by was how brilliant everything was and they didn’t add on a service charge. I am always one to pay a service charge but I don’t believe in tipping on top of one and Dukes Head is one of the first places I’ve been to where I was able to make my own tip. I tipped 20% of my meal as everything was absolutely brilliant. The food was high quality and in a reasonable portion for the price, I got the Half chicken with gravy and chips and the only thing i’d say is that the gravy wasn’t as thick as i’d like it. Ev

Why does it take an age to get the bill at this joint? I've been here in excess of 15 visits and it's always a challenge to obtain the bill! We've even dined immediately after school hours when it's empty and still the same. Strange when we can see the staff going the extra mile over other tables/guests. Don't think I've ever been offered a dessert menu or asked how the meal was, but we always see other tables offered this service. Also, the restaurant door access to the garden is meant to be for staff only, but we witnessed guests rolling in and out at least a hundred times with their drinks

Came here for lunch today to celebrate my wife’s birthday - was served by Sadie who was brilliant. She explained to us how we could redeem our birthday discount and guided us through the menu, taking the time to understand our preferences and making recommendations based on her favourite dishes! I had the fillet steak which was cooked to perfection - my partner had the halloumi burger which she enjoyed. Will definitely be returning!
