We attended my sisters retirement party last night for about 95 people. What a lovely venue! It is close to the city but in the more sedate location of Edgbaston. It was the perfect location for a party. The food was excellent and the friendly, hard working staff exceptional. The atmosphere was relaxed with a singer and a band. In addition, there were two breakaway areas for those who preferred to chat. In summer, with the outdoor area it would be even better. All in all, we could not have asked for more. Awful Where do I start? Parking wasn't easy on a very busy road not helped when staff took up half the only available bay. Given wrong room key. Gets in room tv not working. No cups for a tea Then no milk - didn't have any! No shower gel or soap. Dirty bedding with blood stains on. Couldn't get back in the building after 9pm as fob wouldn't work. No staff around then. Not answering phone numbers. No breakfast. I want a refund for remaining nights! Do not book this hotel

Dined here for New Year’s Eve. The food was delicious, I cannot lie. However the service, was extremely poor. It feels unfair to blame the girls on the floor, it was almost as if they were untrained and had never waited in their life. However, they were all polite and I could tell they were genuine people, trying their best. The management needs looking at, it was almost as if all the restaurants’ original staff had the night off for NYE and they opted to hire unqualified and inexperienced waiting staff, didn’t feel ethical at all
