Had a fantastic beef roast dinner at The Ship and couldn't recommend it more. The roast potatoes were perfectly crispy, the gravy was packed with flavour, and the Yorkshire puddings were lovely and crisp. The beef we had was excellent quality, melted in your mouth. It was really wholesome, proper Sunday roast done right. Brilliant value for money too. I'll definitely be coming back, and would highly recommend the roast to anyone in the area

We booked the Ship Inn, Caerleon for my Husband’s 70th for a private function. Wendy and the team went above and beyond for us, accepting all my food/drink/layout requests, and accommodating us brilliantly. Everyone was really impressed at the quality of the food, and the staff were wonderful. We booked in for a Sunday lunch the following day for 21 people and not one person had any complaints or issues with their meal. In fact it was one of the best Sunday lunches we’d had. We had a delicious Sunday roast here recently. There was plenty of meat and a great selection of veg. There was lots of gravy too, which I think makes a roast. I had the lamb, which was really tender and my husband had the beef which was the same. The meals were very reasonably priced at £17 and £19. I really couldn't fault them and we'll definitely be back. The staff were really friendly and helpful too. Well done The Ship!

Was looking forward to having my birthday meal here, as the food and reviews where always good. The communication when reserving the table and us informing them we might be late due to traffic was fast and polite. However, once we got there things weren't so brilliant. The service was horrible, as we entered the lady who showed us to our table was barely civil, then our waitress couldn't have cared any less. Our drinks order was taken and although I ordered ( and was charged) for a OJ & Soda i got an orange squash. The meal took nearly an hour to come, without a return to our table by the wait
