Great selection of cakes and muffins and the coffee was pretty good. I had the eggs Benny for breakfast and it's want bad either and pretty reasonable. Staff was friendly and helpful.

Honestly pretty disappointed. Before I’d even tried the tuna melt, I was greeted with a dirty tray, you could literally see and feel the dirt on it. The tuna melt itself was barely warm with hardly any cheese, so it definitely wasn’t a “melt”. For £5.95 I expected way better. Won’t be back, let alone order food from here again.

Excellent customer service today. Daughter has a milk allergy and the lady offered to make a product (bacon roll,) fresh with no butter, unlike ones already pre done on display. Felt very welcomed. Likely to be our new lunch spot on our day trips here. Thank you! Xx

Years of visits and still a favourite! I've been a regular at Muffin Break Colchester for years — mostly when I need a decent coffee and a quiet corner to work from. The coffee is consistently good, and the staff are always friendly and welcoming, which makes a real difference. The place does get busy, especially at weekends, so finding a table can take a bit of patience — but that's hardly a complaint, more of a testament to the place being popular for a reason. No bad experiences, no drama. Just a reliable, pleasant spot in Lion Walk that I keep coming back to.
