The portion was great and the two of us shared the fish n chips. I didn’t get much flavor from the batter, the fish was “chewy and rubbery”, and there was an after taste from whatever oil they use that I didn’t like. The “chip shop curry sauce” was very gelatinous. I agree with other reviews about the service, the staff were super friendly but stretched thin with takeout and delivery orders. We waited a long time for our meal and I think it was because it kept being given to other orders. Overall it didn’t have the old traditional flavors I recall for “traditional fish n chips.” But excellent

Great find this, slightly tucked away but very busy and must have a very good reputation. (we are not from the area so don’t know the place other than this one visit). You can eat it or takeaway with tableservice for those eaten in. Friendly, and Lady came to court order, the prices are very reasonable and a nice selection of food as well.. Despite the place being very full and lots of takeaway customers, if you didn’t take very long and was very good quality. Also reasonably good value for money.

Service has gone downhill. Unfortunately it’s not the staffs fault. They seem over encumbered by Just eat orders and neglecting the customers in front of them. Must have waited about 15 minutes for a bag of chips. The owner needs to invest in more staff if he expects them to deal with three flows of work. Sitting, takeaway and orders is too much for two people. The food itself is lovely. The shop itself is aged and hasn’t changed in 20+ years but it is clean.
